Pragmatic Utopia

This project was conceived in response to the challenge of social housing development in Brazil, particularly in Curitiba, where such projects often ends up on the outskirts of the city. The aim was to find a way to bring social housing closer to the city center.

Drawing inspiration from urban strategies like Barcelona’s 22@ and São Paulo’s incentive programs, the idea emerged to create incentives for private developers. This approach allowed for a mixed project where free-market units could help fund social housing on the same plot.
